Parade Float 1xx
Each year the GSRM steam train parade float is prepared for the upcoming parade season. The complete train is looked at both cosmetically and mechanically. This year the exhaust system and cooling system were in for major work. The outside of the train gets a fresh coat of paint on many of its parts.
5/17/08 No headlight, no bell, no whistle. Each of these parts needed repainting to prepare the train for our first parade.
5/17/08 All of the decorative metal has been removed so the engine can be painted.
5/17/08 The radiator was removed and 4 leaks were repaired.
5/17/08 The dash has been removed to secure some of the exterior parts to the boiler.
5/17/08 Many of the gold painted items always need a fresh coat of paint in the spring.
5/17/08 What I mess I have during this painting process.
5/17/08 The turn signals needed a fresh coat of paint too.
5/17/08 This is a partially restored light, more will be done in the next day or two to make it look new.
