By Chuck Kajer
Warm, sunny weather brought out a big crowd Sunday as more
than 2,000 people
jammed the New Prague Area Community Center for the Czech Country
Business Expo.
Kim Gassner, executive director of the new Prague Area chamber
of Commerce,
said the vendors were "thrilled with the attendance,"
which was more than last year's
estimated 2,400. "We don't have an exact count, but it was
a lot busier than the year before.
Those attending had the chance to check out the latest products
and services available
from New Prague, Montgomery and Lonsdale area businesses and service
organizations.
There was also a kid's petting zoo, a couple of kiddie rides and
plenty of door prizes throughout the day.
Winners of a grand prize of $200 in New Prague Czechs and $200
in Monty Bucks,
were Mark Tupy of New Prague and Roxanne Studnicka of Montgomery.
they two
each received $100 to spend in each community.
Also a food donation basket in the entry way, with three shopping carts full.
"I've talked to several vendors, and they were all pleased,"
Gassner said.
"They were happy with the venue and they were happy with
the turnout," she said.

The name is Mike but the story was great.
Thank you to all of the members who helped at this years Expo!
