Tour Manitoba
Welcome. Please excuse the dust - this car is 132 years old - you'd be a little dusty too.
This whacky trailer house isn't a trailer house at all - it's an 1880 Pullman-built office car. It was retrieved in 1998 from a home in Howard Lake, MN slated for demolition for highway realignment.
Pullman built the car in May, 1880 for the St Paul, Minneapolis & Manitoba Railway as its' office car "Manitoba" and it was used by James J Hill and other officers of the railroad. You may know StPM&M today as a component of the BNSF Railway. Great Northern retired the car in approximately 1935, it was assigned the office car number A16 at the time of its' retirement.
