Grat Northern RPO

This car is not Chicago Northwestern but actually a Great Northern Railway Post Office car, with a baggage side. For years this car was on display at Bandana Square in St. Paul.

Measurements are being taken to figure out clearance for movement to New Prague.


Wood composite trucks are still in great shape.




Trucks are being removed to ready the car for movement. The truck were so heavy a large end loader could not pick them up, the trucks were eventually pushed onto a lowboy trailer.


House jacks lifted the coach which enabled the trucks to be slid out.


The RPO car now sits on museum property. We crush pop cans inside on rainy days and straighten metal objects on a heavy duty metal press in our free time.
