Mission Statement:
To educate the public through collection, preservation, restoration, display and operation of railroad equipment and artifacts.

Gopher State Railway Museum (GSRM) is not open to the public at this time.

We are a nonprofit organization with a focus on preserving railroad history by building a railroad museum park. GSRM owns a 20 acre plot of land 2 miles north of New Prague, Minnesota on State Highway 21. Our future plans include a station, car maintenance building, beanery, and multiple railroad related structures. Currently we have a 20 x 40 M&StL maintenance of way tool building sitting on the land. This will be our first display building for use in phase one of our construction. A large maintenance building is also planned in the next phase of construction so our members can restore equipment. We are actively seeking new members by doing local festivals. If you reside within traveling distance and would like to make your mark in life, drop us an email or send in an application for membership. We guarantee you'll have fun! Our organization is also looking for future displays of railroad related items, things like signals, lanterns, switch locks, something your relative had that you would like to have saved for the next generation and other display items are very important to us. Gopher State Railway Museum will be a great asset to the southwest metro area of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota.
